Karen Patel was invited by the Work, Inequalities and Lifecourse research group at Southampton Solent University on 27 March to speak about her research on women makers of colour. Karen talked about findings from her previous project with the Crafts Council UK, and introduced the Craft Expertise project and its aims.

Craft Expertise, or ‘Supporting diversity and expertise development in the contemporary craft economy’ is an AHRC funded UKRI/RCUK Innovation Fellowship led by Dr Karen Patel of Birmingham City University, in collaboration with Crafts Council UK.
